I attended an amazing concert last weekend hosted and M/C’ed by KEXP a public radio station in Seattle. KEXP features music that we don’t normally get to hear because of capitalism and corporations. They play mostly independent music from bands who don’t have albums and proabably won’t make it(but are still amazing) to bands that have 12 albums and have toured all over earth. They are also all about supporting meaningful causes other than music. One of their radio shows “audioasis” features a different non-profit every month. They promote the organization on their website (www.kexp.org) and put on a benefit show at a bar in Freemont(seattle). I emailed John, who seems to wear about every hat at KEXP, and I am hoping to get a good word in so maybe someday we could be that organization. If anyone has any connections down there, let me know.
