First of all, I feel it is necessary to thank all of the volunteers and anyone else who made Party With A Purpose come together. I was really impressed by everyone’s helpfulness and availability before, during and after the event. It’s awesome to work beside a group of fellow young people who are truly passionate about problems like the global AIDS crisis. A lot of hands went into the planning and preparation, and we (Tim, Jesse, Earl, and I) are all very grateful that we didn’t have to do everything ourselves. So, if you helped in any way, thank you.

As far as the party itself is concerned, it was my first experience with a Slum Doctor Programme event and it sure did live up to everything people have said about them. It certainly did feel like a party, and it was good to have a purpose behind it all. It seemed like a very comfortable atmosphere and energetic atmosphere, with people present who care about the organization. Again I was reminded of the commitment of this awesome community to our work. It is amazing how close everyone seems to be, and how much we are backed from this group of people. There are so many great causes and nonprofits in the Bellingham area to support, but still people come out and show up to support our continuing efforts in East Africa.

In the office we have finally gotten a chance to breath after a semi-hectic week making sure everything was in place. Hopefully there will be some pictures from the party to post soon.
