Slum Doctor Programme

A place for medical supplies

Slum Doctor Programme, for good reason, is often confused with Doctors Without Borders or other organization that provide healthcare workers to project sites in Africa.  We are also often given medical supplies and equipment 1. because people often think that we re-distribute donated supplies 2.  that we support medical clinics with donated supplies.  All of these are wonderful ideas for projects and potentially one day as SDP grows we will do just this.   However, we are not there yet.   So in the meantime I wanted to inform everyone about an organization that does do this based in San Francisco.  Child Family Health International’s “Recover Program” collects donated medical supplies, inventories them and then redistributes them as needed to their project sites all over the world.   So we love your support, but if you have medical supplies you want to be well used we recommend CFHI.   Do you know of any other organizations that accept donations of medical supplies?
